“It is not what you are called, but what you answer to.”

African Proverb

Kenyans are an innovative people always using their creativity to solve everyday problems with whatever is close at hand. One of these easily adaptable items is cheap nylon rope, bought at any corner shop within the city. This type of nylon rope holds many, many uses in Kenya- as a clothesline to hang washing, or as firm wrapping around a cardboard box holding a live chicken, or even support for curtains in a humble sitting room. It is the Kenyan lifestyle version of a completely versatile survival rope that is used for anything and everything. In this case, the Artist wound the rope around metal frames to create high fashion sunglasses as a blue statement.
