The eyewear in this image is made from drinking straws. As a child, straws were the source of countless hours of fun for The Artist. Half of their joy in getting a soda was having a straw to play with at the end. While sodas are important in the Kenyan culture, to a child, the drinking straws were even more so. A straw presented infinite creative possibilities they were drinking devices, snorkelling tubes and fashionable bracelets all rolled into one!
