BEYOND A PRETTY FLOWER

Culture easily forgets that a woman’s contribution can go beyond the boundaries placed upon her; that a woman’s mind is a goldmine of potential. African culture has historically pushed women to blend into defined roles, however there is an increase in volume from the African female voice against this cultural camouflage. Through the colourful world of Camo, the Artist gives voice to her own experience as a woman pushing against the barriers of a conservative culture, all framed by her distinct prints and innovative eyewear as seen through her lens.
